The outcome of this game is generally determined before you begin. If you lose its because it decided to make you lose. If you win its because it decided to let you win. You cannot expect a dice roll to ever be random since manipulating the result is one of the things it uses to determine the outcome. Imagine a human opponent who could choose both what roll you get and the ones it gets, thats how this game behaves. If your choices ever threaten the predetermined result, it will adjust in obvious and irritating ways. It isnt very clever, this.
